A total of 34 newly and previously elected members of 51²è¹İapp’s classes of 2025 and 2026 are being recognized this year by Phi Beta Kappa for their outstanding academic achievements.
Four exceptional individuals will be awarded honorary degrees in recognition of the significant contributions each has made to their fields of expertise during 51²è¹İapp College’s 2025 Commencement ceremony to be held on May 19, 2025.
Ruth P. Feingold will join 51²è¹İapp College on July 1 as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College. She will also hold the rank of professor in the department of English with contributions to Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies. Dr. Feingold currently serves as Dean the College and Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences at Willamette University in Salem, OR.
51²è¹İapp College has been awarded a $150,000 grant from the William Randolph Hearst Foundations to expand its efforts in recruiting and supporting transfer students from both two- and four-year institutions.

The Carnegie Classifications have long been a hallmark of institutions that excel in research and practice. This year, under the newly reimagined classification system, 51²è¹İapp has been designated as a Research College and University, reflecting the College’s ongoing commitment to scholarly inquiry and impactful research.
The project, titled "Fundamental Studies of the Influence of Ligands on the Molecular Structure of Noble Metal Nanoclusters," will explore the electronic and molecular structures of these small but impactful materials. The grant is funded through the DOE Office of Science (Office of Basic Energy Sciences) as part of the DOE’s Funding for Accelerated, Inclusive Research (FAIR) program.
